Of course, like most Rockies hitters, Gonzalez’s numbers are a bit skewed playing in Denver’s thin air, and he’s been injury-prone the past few season but did play a career-high 153 games in 2015. Yetmost teams would still be willing to take a risk on his undeniable talent.OUR TAKE: Gonzalez to St. Louis not only makes sense, but also it seems only rightfor a 30-year-old Jim Rice Jersey who hasspent most of his career on losing teams. The Rockies are getting better with young guys like Nolan Arenado, Corey Dickerson and Charlie Blackmon stepping up, but the Cardinals offer a better chance to win now. St. Louis has a litany of young talent with MLB experience, so it’s likely at least one ofRandal Grichuk, Stephen Piscotty orTommy Pham would be part of the deal.
